Streetscene

We will continue to work with St Albans City Council to monitor the streetscene and respond to your concerns or comments.

Waste Management

You have told us that Commercial Waste Management in St Albans is expensive, inconvenient and haphazard. Side roads are cluttered with waste bins from a range of waste contractors.

We are delighted to be working with HUBBUB to understand the challenges and to propose solutions that will save our businesses money and increase effective recycling.

HUBBUB’s first step results of their project: Commercial Waste Review July 2018

Second Step of recommendations can be seen here: Cleaner and Greener St Albans August 2018.

St Albans Business Crime Partnership (SABCP)

Working closely in partnership with Hertfordshire Constabulary, St Albans Community Safety Partnership and CCTV ensures our City is a safe place to live, work, shop and enjoy your leisure time.

St Albans BID Members can benefit from free membership to the SABCP linking to Police, CCTV and St Albans BID.  There is a rental fee applicable for the security radios. The scheme will be open to businesses outside of the BID area, extending to the wider District (subject to radio and CCTV coverage), with membership fees linked to rateable value.

SABCP launched 1st April 2018.  If you are interested in becoming a member of the scheme, please get in touch with Vanessa Sharp.

Taxi Marshalls

St Albans BID is proud to part fund the Taxi Marshalls Scheme which has been operating since 2005. The scheme provides SIA-credited operatives between 9pm and 3am on Friday and Saturday evenings. The overarching objectives for this scheme are to reduce alcohol related crimes, increase people’s feelings of safety, positive promotion of the night time economy and the safety of drivers.

Signposting and Wayfinding

St Albans BID is working with All Points West to audit, design and upgrade a wholesale pedestrian signposting strategy for St Albans City Centre. We will seek to answer the question: How can a visitor to St Albans seek to discover its best assets?
